Specs from manufacturer pages; prices checked October 2026.
The Sun Home Equinox and Sunlighten Amplify II are, as far as we can tell, the same two-person full-spectrum infrared cabin sold under two brands. As of October 2026, they list identical 50.9″ × 45.9″ × 77.7″ dimensions and the same heater layout on 120V. One buyer who ordered an Equinox received a Sunlighten-branded Amplify II, shipped by Sunlighten. That changes the question from “which sauna is better” to “which company should I buy from”.
The evidence they’re the same sauna
- The photo: Sun Home’s own Equinox image file is named “Amplify2_Eucalyptus_Front”.
- The specs: both are listed at 50.9″ W × 45.9″ D × 77.7″ H, with four far-infrared and two full-spectrum heaters on 120V.
- The delivery: a Reddit buyer ordered an Equinox and received a “black edition” Amplify II. Sun Home told them the order was fulfilled by Sunlighten. The buyer called it “super deceptive”, since nothing on the product page says so.
Rebadging isn’t unusual in this industry, and it doesn’t make either product worse. It does mean you shouldn’t pay a premium for one name over the other.
Price
As of October 2026, Sunlighten’s shop lists the Amplify II at $5,799 (basswood) or $5,999 (eucalyptus), and Sun Home lists the Equinox at about $6,100–$6,800. Both brands run frequent promotions, and one Redditor reports negotiating a Sunlighten deal through a dealer. Check both on the day you buy.
Buying experience
Sun Home publishes prices and lets you order online. Sunlighten often routes buyers through sales consultations, and multiple owners describe daily calls and texts until they bought. If you dislike being sold to, Sun Home is the easier path to the same cabin.
Track record and reviews
Sunlighten has been in business for decades, holds an A+ BBB rating and has about 4,080 Trustpilot reviews averaging 4.6/5. It also has a vocal group of unhappy customers: slow repairs, owners asked to rewire parts themselves, and a warranty dispute after its rename from Sunlight Saunas.
Sun Home launched in 2021, so long-term owner data is thin, and some praise posted online reads as promotional. Owners of its other models describe responsive support, and the company replies publicly to complaints.
Warranty and service
Both list 7 years on the cabinet and heaters for this cabin, with shorter terms on controls and audio. If you buy the Equinox, ask who handles warranty claims, given one buyer’s order was fulfilled by Sunlighten.
Beyond these two models
- Sun Home also makes the Luminar, the outdoor infrared sauna we recommend, and the red-light Eclipse.
- Sunlighten makes the mPulse smart range and the Solo portable. Owners of the newer mPulse report it heats more slowly than earlier versions.
Which should you buy?
- Buy the Sun Home Equinox if you want a published price, online ordering and no sales calls.
- Buy the Sunlighten Amplify II if it’s cheaper on the day, or you value Sunlighten’s longer history and larger owner base.
Either way, you get one of the hottest plug-in infrared saunas available. Read the full Sun Home Equinox review and Sunlighten Amplify II review.
